When you live on an island, even an island connected to the Charleston peninsula by two bridges, you learn to count on certain things. You learn to count on flooding with each and every hard rain. You learn to count on the power going out often. You learn to count on getting home from the store having forgotten at least one item on your list. You learn to count on UPS a lot! And if you are a photographer, you learn to count on B&H Photo & Video to ship all of your supplies and equipment!

B&H has long been my favorite supplier for my camera equipment and supplies. I can go online or call in an order and within a few days, my equipment or supplies show up at my door with the men in brown. I became hooked on B&H after visiting their store in New York City. It is a candy store for photographers. But beyond that is the way that B&H conducts business. If you want to learn about a product or understand how one technology differs from another, B&H can help you and will! You can talk with them by phone, research the information on their store website or if you are in New York, stop by the store and talk with someone face to face. They will share with you all of the latest information with absolutely no pressure to buy.

B&H honors the products it sells. Last summer I bought the Epson 9880 printer which had to be shipped by a freight company. It arrived but there were problems with the delivery and condition of the packaging, enough so that I got B&H on the phone before I would allow the delivery folks to bring the printer into my house. It indeed had to be returned, a real chore when on an island. NO problem though for B&H! Customer service was immediate, efficient and courteous. When it was time to ship the second printer, at my request, B&H changed the shipping method.

This past fall, Canon was releasing the new 5D Mark II camera. I, along with the rest of the world, had been waiting months to purchase it. Camera stores across the country were taking prepayments for cameras they would not be able to deliver for two to three months. I called B&H nearly everyday for a while, hoping a shipment would be on the way. They took no prepayments. B&H would not and will not take orders that they can not fill. When they camera finally did come in, they took only enough orders to sell what they knew was on the truck headed to their warehouse.

I have been fortunate in that I have never been sold a photographic product I did not need. I have also been fortunate to have, years ago, found B&H, a company whose business keeps on growing because of the integrity they run their business with.
